On Monday 11th November, our whole school remembrance ceremony marked Armistice Day which was a moving event for our school community. All students, guests and staff observed the day in reverent silence remembering those that gave their today, for our tomorrow. Our service iwas particularly poignant, as we also remembered Private Matthew Thornton, an ex-student who was tragically killed whilst serving our country in Afghanistan with 4th Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment.
It is important to our community that we continue to respect and remember the sacrifice of one of our own. We can best honour Private Matthew Thornton and the legacy of those that have gone before him, through the promotion of British Values, by ensuring that their sacrifice continues to be known by young people today.
